Tanushree Dutta & Nana Patekar Controversy: How the B Town reacted to it?
The former model and actress Tanushree Dutta’s allegations against the veteran actor Nana Patekar seems to be gaining loads of buzz in the media. She took ten years to speak about the harassment story that took place while shooting for the movie called Horn OK Pleasss in a recent interview when she spoke about the incident taking place at the sets of the said story. She explained how she was harassed by the actor that soon turned into a controversy allowing the lady to trend over the social media. This made many of the B Town actors speaking in favor of the lady allowing the hastag – #IBelieveYouTanushreeDutta to trend.
Farhan Akhtar – The first man to react on this controversy was the actor and director of B Town Farhan when he says the journalist Janice Sequeira tweeting about the story of the Dutta. Farhan reacting to the tweet said that though the lady was late in talking about the harassment of the issue happened a decade before over the said movie’s set, yet her courage should be appreciated without questioning her intentions.
Priyanka Chopra – When Farhan Akhtar wrote his statement over the microblogging site, Priyanka Chopra the global icon of B Town was quick to respond. She said – Agreed and that the world needs to believe the lady who happens to be a survivor with the hash tag – #BelieveSurviviors.
Parineeti Chopra – She was also quick to re-tweet on her sister’s (Pee Cee) when she wrote that she agree to what is being said on the controversy. She further added that the survivors are the true survivors and they cannot be doubted about it. They are to be respected the best; hence we need to believe in them and respect them as well.
Twinkle Khanna – The lady is a former actress and a known producer of B Town and she also reacted on the tweets and retweets led by the lady journalist after the interview. She asked people to read the thread clearly without judging the former actress who talked about the harassment story, which is her basic right. She further said every woman has the right to speak against anything which she feels bad about it. She then called the former actress as brave to speak about the harassment taking place ten years ago.
Hansal Mehta – The known filmmaker who is popular for making films on bold issues also spoke about the same. He raised the question whether this controversy will also die down with some time going without a formal complaint and investigation and at the end no action for the person found guilty in it. He then concluded by saying that he is cynical about the outcome as he is sure about the fact that nothing would happen to the culprit as they set out free.
These are just a handful of people who spoke about the issue and backed Tanushree Dutta who currently spoke about the incident to a journalist. She stays in the US and perhaps has taken so long to speak about it. There are many who spoke on it which include Siddharth Malhotra, Vir Das, while others like Aamir Khan, Big B and Salman Khan chose to stay away by saying that they do not know about the issues and would, therefore, do not like to comment on the same.
