Varun Dhawan: The Actor’s journey from Student of the Year to Sui Dhaaga
Varun Dhawan as an actor is just six years old in Bollywood. Before acting, he tried to brush up his skills for films as asst. director to Karan Johar to some of his movies like My Name is Khan and so on. And soon after two years, he was seen doing his debut with the said filmmaker in the film Student of the Year in 2012 with Alia and Siddharth. Since then it was no looking back for him. Now, he is among the most successful actors in Bollywood and rich in demand for various actors in the B Town. Let’s have a look at the multiple shades of characters he has played in B Town films and excelled in every genre film as under getting a successful journey so far:
The Chocolate Hero
His start in the B Town with the movies like Student of the Year, he played a chocolate hero. Being a rich man’s son, he remained deserted by his father making him the only enemy. He then proves him with his worth and thus played a decent character with a good performance in it. Some of the films in which he retained his chocolate boy look were the films Main Tera Hero, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. And yes don’t forget Judwa 2. He played the romantic roles in these films with humor and a stubborn hero who leaves no stone unturned to see his romantic look and feel commendable before the audience.
The Intense Hero
Though he started with light and humorous films like the above movies yet he remained the part of a couple of films that gave him negative image with some intense look. But he managed to showcase the best performances with the films – Badlapur and October. In the former, he played a man who takes revenge from the people who made his life mess by killing his wife and son, while in the latter he emerged as a tragedy actor who gives his life to his ailing heroine. Both the films demanded his intense look and feel, which he managed to give the best thus emerging as a leading actor.
The 100 crore clubber
He did a couple of films that even bagged 100+ crore collection at the box office. At this stage when is still a new face in B Town, he managed to make his films enter the 100 crore club. In his career of six years he has four films that have entered into the 100 crore club. These include Dilwale, ABCD 2, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Dishoom. He got the chance to share a screen with some big-time actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in Dilwale and with John Abraham, Akshay Khanna and Akshay Kumar in Dishoom. This speaks his versatility in the B Town.
As we see his movie Sui Dhaaga has hit the screen now, and he has yet another side to prove. He is not only good as a chocolate boy or a romance hero but at the same time fit in the best for intense and negative roles. He is also cool in films with serious theme and content as we see him Sui Dhaaga.
